Damage control?

Well, we made it and we are all in one piece. The first night we spent in Hessston, KS. It was so cold! My hands burned just letting the dogs out and getting the kids in. That night after flinging their corndogs around like sparklers and Gunnar busting his lip open on the porta crib we finally got to bed. In the morning another diesel truck had gelled-up and had me very concerned but with a prayer in heart our little diesel started right up. But to be prepared for the next morning and so as to not press my luck, I stopped at Wal-mart and every truck stop from KS to CO to find some anti-gel stuff but everyone was out. Finally I found one bottle and added that to the fuel. The next stop, Limon, CO We ate at Denny's which with two boys who had been in the car all day I was impressed when Gunnar walked away with only a cut and bruise right between his eyes from goofiing off. Hotel where are you!! At the hotel after the glass closet door fell off the hinges from my two curious boys I decided we all must go to bed before I loose it and destroy something myself. Luckly I fixed that, I hope it doesn't fall on anyone else, oops? The best part of it all was when I drove up to our house and could not find our drive way. I seriously contiplated if I should drive between the two trees where I knew our drive was, and decided I really had nowhere else to go if I could not make it so I pushed on, well slid on. Needless to say I am home in the house with the boys but am now stuck here! No groceries, and no way to plow the driveway because the plow is in OK, well the plow is here but the 4-wheeler is in OK. Why?
Here are some pictures of our home that we are trying to sale. We have finally made it so wonderful and now are selling it. If you know anyone that might be interested. Its on 40 acres, if you want anymore info. let me know.
My wonderful craftroom! This is the living room and the dining room behind the fireplace.
This is a view from the back porch
This is another view from the dining room.
Merry Christmas!!

Almost everything done...

Well, yesterday I was a plumber. I got my dirt overalls on and off to the neighbors I went, tools in hand. This water leak unfortunately was our fault. Yesterday, we hit the neighbors water pipe and broke it. The first fix did not seem to work because yesterday morning I drove by with water spraying everywhere (remember Brian is gone ok). So plumber Megan went to the rescue with a prayer in my heart that I really could fix their water. All in all after two hours of curing, right as the sun began to fade I turned their water on knowing I would be in a big bind if this did not work. Wahoooooo!! To my surprise it worked. I did it, I did it! You know, that is something I am thankful for, opportunities to do things that I would not normally do so that I get greater confidence in all things. Like Sarah Palin, maybe someday I will be running for President!! Just kidding. Today was run around day trying to get the most done that I can before I head into all of these enormous storms towards Colorado. Believe it or not I got just about everything done and even saved a dog today so I am feelin pretty good. Brian is at the rig for Christmas so we are going to join him, at the rig. This dog I saved is a pretty scruffy dog that no one has ever wanted. He has been there almost a year and they were going to have to put him down soon. He has calluses on his legs from sleeping on the cement for so long (nobody better be laughing). I wish you could see his eyes, so loving. He is so happy and so am I. I don't know about many of you but animals have always been a source of peace in my life that right now I need more than anything. I am very happy with my little scruffy dog and many of you can probably picture that quite well. So chow from Scruffy and Megan!

The things we learn...

It has been over a month and I am finally learning to cheese-up my blog a bit, yeppee!! I have been in Oklahoma a few weeks now. It is starting to feel a bit like home but my ventures to the laundrymat are getting a bit old. I decided to leave ALL of our furnishings in CO hoping that it would help our home sale(I have it decorated just like I like it...FINALLY). Not only has our home not sold but I HAVE nothing to make life livable in OK. I believe I have this innate quality to make my life hard and to make it worse Brian is the same way. Just when life gets mandane we ALWAYS have to change something to make life as if we are chickens on a hot plate; probably as humorous to others too. Anyways, I learned what freezing rain is; rain ice what I like to call it. I have heard about rain ice but I have never experienced it until the other day. The atmosphere is to warm for it to snow but the earth is at freezing temperatures so when it rains what ever the rain touches it turns into ice, sheets of it. Just like rain wets everything, this stuff ices everything. It is insane! People don't leave their homes when it happens. Nobody moves, it is crazy. When it starts to rain, I fight the instant reaction to freak out now. Isn't it incredible how we change as life goes on. I hope that I can learn a lot. Just think about all the things I will learn when we get pigs in the barn. Another exciting adventure in the life of Megan. I will let you all know the first time a bore attacks me, I get bit, and runover or I cut the wrong thing (if you know what I mean) when processing our piglets. I just love Parker. He is so fun.

Both so cool, both so different! A slow adjustment would have been much appreciated but guess I will be ready for the third, right?

The funny one of the bunch. Boy what he teaches us about how funny just moving your body in a unique way can be.
